Bop till you drop at the Eskbank House and Museum 1950’s party on Saturday 5 March 2016.

The Blagoyevich family lived at Eskbank House during the 1950’s and held parties there with Michael Blagoyevich’s band The Fugitives. On Saturday 5 March 2015 from 2.00pm, Eskbank House will once again host a 1950s party, complete with dancing, milk bar, carnival, 50’s wheels and flicks.

The Ridgey Didge Duo will have guests bopping and jiving with their Rock n’ Roll tunes on the Courtyard dance floor. For those who wish to perfect their ‘50s dances moves there will be teachers available. The bottomless Milk bar will have milkshakes and snacks for dancers who need to refuel or just want to hang out.

“The 1950s was such a great time for breaking free and having fun,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Maree Statham. “So pop on your dancing shoes and join us for a jive and a milkshake at Eskbank House.”

“Eskbank Carnival” in the gardens will be filled with games and sports. Skills will be tested on the balloon pop and the ring toss, with groovy prizes to win.   The Lithgow Croquet Club (which started in the 1950s) will be back with their hoops and mallets. Badminton, totem tennis and quoits will keep everyone running till they need more milkshakes.

Lithgow Historic Car Club will have their ‘50s wheels on display, including a fully fitted out tear drop caravan. When they need a break guests can chill out in the theatrette with ‘50s flicks.

Guests will be encouraged to show off their best ‘50s threads. Whether a Bodgie, a Widgie, a Nerd or a Pom-Pom shaker, they can put on their best style and win themselves a prize in the Hip Threads Competition.

Tickets are available at the Lithgow Visitor Information Centre or by calling 1300 76 02 76. Adults $40, Children 5-12 and Seniors Card Holders $20, Children under 5 free.  All activities and food are included in the price.
